The Hunter Western Hornets are pleased to confirm the appointment of our 2019 National Youth Championships (NYC) Coaching Staff.

Hornets Girls 18’s

Head Coach: Natalie Little
Assistant Coach: Nicole Grose
Manager: Liberty Little

Hornets Boys 18’s

Head Coach: Darren McSpadden
Assistant Coach: Les Smith
Manager: Anne-Maree Donoghue

 

Hornets last participated in the NYC in 2011, when our boys side finished 16th/18, and the girls finished 8th/18.

Fun Fact: Daniel Evans was names MVP from Hornets that year, with a total of 5 touchdowns scores for the series. While, Tamika Fuller was named MVP for the girls side, also scoring 5 throughout the series.

Players competing in the 2019 event will take part in a trial, with details to be released in due course. 

 

The 2019 NYC is being held alongside the 2019 National Schools Cup (NSC) at Sunshine Coast Stadium, Bokarina QLD.

Both the 2019 NYC and NSC will commence on Wednesday 18th September with NSC Grand Finals taking place on Friday, 20th September and NYC finals day on Saturday 21st September.
