After several years away from the top game, the Hunter Western Hornets are set to return to the National Youth Championships (NYC).

The decision to return to the NYC is thanks to over 12 months of work from our dedicated volunteer committee, and the passion to further the playing pathway for elite junior players within the region.

Approval was sought, and given by the NSWTA Board of Management in September 2018, which comprises the Regional Directors of all 6 NSW regions, paving the way for a Hornets return in 2019. 

There is a level of complexity around the selection of teams for the Hornets Boys and Girls 18’s sides, and will mean that the current 18’s sides will not automatically be included in the new look teams to head to the Sunny Coast. Final details are currently being confirmed by Hornets management, and will be published in due course. 

For now, Hornets are seeking qualified Coaching Staff to fill the roles of Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Manager for the two teams.
